The Latinas United for Political Empowerment PAC has endorsed Bob Menendez for re-election to the United State Senate.
Senator Menendez has a record of standing up for New Jersey, for Latinos and for protecting our progressive values,” said Patricia Campos-Medina, President of LUPE PAC. “We urge all Latinos to show up to the polls and make sure Nuestro Senador (Our Senator) Bob Menendez goes back to Washington, D.C. to stop President Trump’s attacks on women and our reproductive healthcare choices.”
LUPE PAC is also backing five Latinas running for local office: Celeste Fernandez for Atlantic County Freeholder; Ileana Montes for Mountainside councilwoman; Alana Cuerto and Marilou Vallacis for City Council in Perth Amboy; and Cindy Matute-Brown for West Orange councilwoman.
“It is with great enthusiasm that our board has voted to endorse and support these five Latina candidates who are breaking barriers by raising their voices on matters of importance to their local communities,” Campos-Medina said “As we continue to expand our resources to help elect Latinas to public office all across New Jersey, we strongly feel that women voices are needed in our public discourse and local elected bodies to bring common sense, new ideas, respect and empathy to solving the crucial challenges facing New Jersey voters.”
