The Democratic State Committee did not consult with Rep. Andy Kim on its decision to bring House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to its annual conference, the congressman said Wednesday.
“They can do what they want to do. I wasn’t consulted,” Kim said. “We’ll just kind of go at it as we go.”
During his 2018 campaign, Kim said he would not back Pelosi for a House leadership position.
The first-term congressman was one of 32 Democrats to oppose Pelosi in a closed-door caucus meeting last November but voted for her during January’s election for House speaker.
It’s unclear whether Kim plans to attend the state committee conference in Atlantic City, which will take place on Sept. 26 and 27.
