Kiley gets endorsement from Thompson

State Sen. Sam Thompson (R-Old Bridge) has endorsed Monmouth County Commissioner Sue Kiley for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 6th district.

Kiley faces former U.S. Food and Drug Administration official Rik Mehta, former Republican National Committee staffer Thomas Toomey, and 2021 Libertarian gubernatorial candidate Gregg Mele in the Republican primary.

Thompson said that Kiley “represents our best opportunity to retire Frank Pallone from Congress and to return control of the House of Representative to the Republican Party.“

“Kiley has demonstrated that she is an outstanding public servant and an even better candidate,” said Thompson, a  former Middlesex County GOP Chairman.  “She flipped her hometown from Democrat control into a Republican stronghold in her two elections for Township Committee and she won County-wide for Commissioner twice with over 60% of the vote.”

Kiley, Mehta, Toomey and Mele are facing off for the Middlesex Republican organization line at the party convention on March 19.
