Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) reviewed a series of federal aid measures made available under last month’s stopgap stimulus Tuesday.
Appearing on a call with Small Business Administration New Jersey Deputy District Director John Blackstock, Gottheimer told viewers of the livestreamed video how they could apply for a new round of Paycheck Protection Program Loans.
“It’s my goal to make sure everyone across North Jersey knows what new resources are available from the bipartisan emergency COVID-19 relief package that was signed into law in recent weeks, including the new round of PPP loans that are fully available starting today,” he said.
He also went over $300 weekly payments unemployment payments enacted by the last round of stimulus. Those benefits started going out last week. The New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development on Tuesday said it made 533,000 such payments, worth roughly $296 million, over the weekend.
The House Problem Solvers Caucus, a bipartisan group of lawmakers co-chaired by Gottheimer, was key in the passage of the bipartisan stimulus deal.
“The package will specifically help the Fifth District by revitalizing our economy and saving our struggling small businesses, helping put food on the table and ensuring food security, improving our health infrastructure and distributing vaccines to our communities, putting money in the pockets of American adults and children, helping keep families in their homes, and, ultimately, it will help get us through these winter months,” Gottheimer said.
