Republican congressional candidate Kate Gibbs wants the June 2 primary election to be 100% vote-by-mail as a way to combat the spread of coronavirus.
Gibbs said that eliminating in-person voting is the best way protect public health in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic.
“Forget about party labels, we need to come together as a state and as a country and start dealing with this crisis as adults,” Gibbs said. “I recognize the election is nearly 80 days away, but in order to have a fair and secure election, this decision can’t wait. Our Secretary of State, Superintendents of Election, County Clerks, and Boards of Election need to know the rules now to properly plan for June.”
The New Jersey Globe reported today that the Murphy administration is working on a contingency plan to run April school board and May non-partisan elections entirely through VBM ballots.
