Michael Flynn, the former National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump, has endorsed Ian Smith for Congress in New Jersey’ 3rd district.
“Ian is a proven fighter. When the government decided to shut down his business, he took a stand and fought back,” said Flynn. “Ian Smith was fighting against mandates before any of our ‘leaders’ thought it was the right thing to do. I am confident that in Congress Ian Smith will fight against the progressive left’s march toward socialism and be a constant defender of the Constitution.”
Smith, the owner of the South Jersey-based Atilis Gym, received national prominence as a stanch opponent to Gov. Phil Murphy’s Covid closures and mask mandates.
“General Flynn served our nation with honor in the Army for 33 years. He then continued that service as a foreign policy advisor to several Republican presidential candidates,” Smith said. “General Flynn is a proven conservative fighter and I am proud to have him on our team.”
He faces Robert Healey, Jr. and Nicholas Ferrara in the June 7 Republican primary.
