The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825 is backing Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski in the May 10 Bayonne mayoral election against incumbent Jimmy Davis.

“Bayonne is an exemplary city on the forefront of the future.  A city like Bayonne needs a leader to match,” said Greg Lalevee, the Local 825 business manager.  “When it comes to managing future development, stabilizing taxes, and making sure middle-class families can get ahead – Sharon Ashe-Nadrowski is the right choice and we proudly offer our full endorsement of her candidacy.”

The Operating Engineers endorsement is a big deal for Ashe-Nadrowski, the city council president who is looking to deny Davis a third term.  Local 825’s support is typically accompanied by money and boots on the ground.

This weekend, the Bayonne Public School Administrators Association endorsed Davis.

“The Davis Team offers honest, pragmatic, and hopeful insight into our needs in Bayonne,” the group said in a statement.  “Their willingness to examine the issues and listen closely to the public’s questions and concerns sets them far apart from the other candidates.”

Davis, a retired police captain, defeated incumbent Mark Smith in 2014.
