Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Florida), a former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, held a fundraiser in Montclair today with Rep. Nellie Pou (D-North Haledon), the lone New Jersey Democrat targeted by Republicans for defeat in 2026.
The event was hosted at Essex County Commissioner Brendan Gill (D-Montclair)’s office, and Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair), the Democratic nominee for governor, was also in attendance.
“I want to thank my colleague and a great leader, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, for coming to the great Garden State to support my re-election,” Pou said in a statement. “With her, and our next Governor Mikie Sherrill, we had a big turnout this morning. Together, we are fighting to provide lower costs, safer neighborhoods, and quality health care for the American people. This campaign continues to grow and build energy towards not only our reelection, but also a new Democratic House majority in Washington.”
Pou and Wasserman-Schultz also toured a Veterans Affairs clinic in Paterson and attended a Jewish community roundtable in Bergen County.
