Claire Gustafson has picked up the endorsements of Camden and Gloucester county GOP leaders in her bid for New Jersey’s 1st district House seat against Rep. Donald Norcross (D-Camden).
Two county chairs, Richard Ambrosino of Camden and Jacci Vigilante of Gloucester, are backing Gustafson, a former Collingswood school board member. So are State Sen. Edward Durr (R-Swedesboro) , and the two assemblywomen from the 3rd district, Beth Sawyer (R-Woolwich) and Bethanne McCarthy-Patrick (R-Mannington).
The three Republicans who won upset victories in Gloucester County last year – Sheriff Jonathan Sammons and County Commissioners, Chris Konawel and Nick DeSilvio – are also supporting Gustafson, along with Washington Township Councilmen Richard Bennett and Anthony Dellapia, Winslow Councilman Brandon Glikas, and Pitman Councilwoman Courtney Millard.
“I am honored to have earned the support of two incredibly hard-working chairs and this group of extraordinary public servants who work hard each and every day to make their communities better,” Gustafson said. “I’m thrilled to have them on the team and together we can pull off another upset victory in South Jersey.”
Gustafson is making her third bid for Congress. She lost a GOP primary in 2014, and won 38% against Norcross in 2020.
