One of the most conservative members of the New Jersey Legislature, Assemblyman Brian Bergen (R-Denville), has endorsed Tom Kean, Jr. for the Republican nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th district.
“Tom is a statesman who I’ve had the privilege to call a mentor in my first term in the State Assembly,” said Bergen. “He has demonstrated true leadership and an impressive ability to push sound policy even while in the minority.”
Bergen, a former U.S. Army combat helicopter pilot and West Point graduate, is serving his second term in Trenton. He serves in the legislature with one of Kean’s GOP primary opponents.
“I have been impressed by him at every turn,” Bergen stated. “I am lucky to represent 10 towns in the 7th congressional district at the state level and I implore all voters in those towns to please support Tom Kean for Congress.”
Kean, the former minority leader of the New Jersey State Senate, is challenging Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-Ringoes). In 2020, Kean came within 1% of unseating Malinowski and is now running in a newly-drawn district that is more favorable to Republicans.
