Cory Booker will be part of the Democratic U.S. Senate leadership team in the 117th Congress.
Booker will serve as vice chairman of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee.
Matt Klapper, Booker’s chief of staff, said on Twitter that the New Jersey senator will put racial justice, strong and equitable economic recovery and growth, a science-driven response to COVID, and combatting climate change and environmental justice as his top legislative agenda item.
Debbie Stabenow (D-Michigan) will continue to chair the policy and communications committee, and Booker will now join Joe Manchin (D-West Virginia) as a vice chair.
Senate Democrats announced today that Charles Schumer (D-New York) will continue as their leader – it won’t be clear whether its Majority or Minority until next year – and Dick Durbin (D-Illinois) will be Whip.
