The second member of New Jersey’s congressional delegation came out in support of Gov. Phil Murphy’s pick for a seat on the Supreme Court, Michael Noriega.
Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown) said he was “heartened” to learn of Noriega’s nomination.
“Those that sit on supreme courts across the country need to be the best legal minds dedicated to upholding our rules and laws as well as people of integrity and character,” Kim said. “I hope Michael has the chance to serve and show us the quality that we deserve.”
Another congressman, Robert J. Menendez (D-Jersey City), has also publicly declared his support for Noriega.
If confirmed by the Senate, Noriega would replace Barry Albin, who retired in 2022 after 19 years on the Supreme Court.
