Tim Alexander has not yet conceded his loss in the 2nd district Democratic congressional primary and has not ruled out seeking a recount.

The New Jersey Globe has called the race for Joe Salerno, who has a 443-vote lead over Alexander in the race to take on Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-Dennis).  Salerno added ten votes to his margin on Saturday after Cumberland County completed its tally.

“I haven’t made a decision as of yet,” Alexander said this morning.  “We’re still evaluating everything.”

The is no reasonable path for Alexander to win the June 4 primary.

A former police officer and Philadelphia assistant district attorney, Alexander won the 2022 Democratic congressional primary with 62% of the vote in a contest in which he had all of the organization lines but lost the general election to Van Drew by nineteen percentage points.

The race was called for Salerno on Wednesday evening after Atlantic County finished counting votes.  He had led on primary night and never relinquished his lead.
