8 PM Sunday: Rik Mehta talks about his U.S. Senate bid with David Wildstein

By NJ Globe Staff, August 16 2020 6:27 pm

Rik Mehta, the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, will discuss his campaign to unseat incumbent Democrat Cory Booker at 8 PM on Sunday.

A former U.S. Food and Drug Administration official, Mehta won the July 7 GOP primary with the support of 17 of 21 Republican county organizations.

He is seeking to break the 49th longest losing streak in the nation for U.S. Senate races: Republicans haven’t won a U.S. Senate race in New Jersey since 1972.  Only Hawaii has gone longer.

Mehta’s interview with New Jersey Globe editor David Wildstein will be available live on Facebook and later tonight on YouTube and on the New Jersey Globe.
