Tammy Murphy has picked up the endorsement of Trenton Mayor Reed Gusciora, a longtime progressive leader and the leader of the state’s capital city.

The endorsement comes two days before the Mercer County Democratic convention, where candidates must win at least 40% of the vote to be listed in the organization column.

“From hosting Nurture NJ Family Festivals for our families to seeking solutions with food deserts, Tammy has worked tirelessly to uplift the voices of our city.  Tammy’s collaboration with our community has undoubtedly made Trenton, and our state, a safer place for Black and brown mothers to deliver and raise a baby,” Gusciora said.  “I know she will be a champion for our families in the U.S. Senate, and I am incredibly proud to endorse her.”

A former twelve-term assemblyman, Gusciora was re-elected to a second term in 2022 with a landslide 71% of the vote.  He was an early supporter of Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop’s bid for the 2025 Democratic gubernatorial nomination.

Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown) is widely viewed as having the edge on Mercer.  He represents East Windsor, Hamilton, Hightstown, Lawrence, and Robbinsville in Congress, and won the endorsement of the Princeton Community Democratic Organization last Sunday.
