Conservative activist Steve Rogers ran against Jack Ciattarelli and Hirsh Singh in the 2017 Republican primary for governor and now he’s taking sides after a staged confrontation on Tuesday evening between Singh campaign manager King Penna and Ciattarelli’s wife, Melinda.
Rogers said Republicans “must condemn Singh’s campaign for crossing a line that should never be crossed,” said Rogers, a former Nutley Town Commissioner.
“After viewing the video and the behavior of Singh’s campaign manager it is clear to me that this tough guy needs to be condemned by the New Jersey GOP,” said Rogers, a former Trump campaign advisors. “Verbally attacking Ciattarelli’s wife and family is as low as one can go. Melinda Ciattarelli is a classy woman who did not deserve this treatment.
Another candidate, Phil Rizzo, called on Singh to fire the controversial Penna last night.
Melinda Ciattarelli easily punched Penna back, displaying an attitude that proudly channels her New Jersey roots.
“You’re an arrogant asshole,” she said.
