The International Union of Operating Engineers Local 68 has endorsed Pamela Thomas-Fields for mayor of Atlantic City.
“This election is all about Atlantic City having the very best in the mayor’s seat. Pamela Thomas-Fields is that answer,” said Thomas P. Giblin, business manager for Local 68. “What she brings to the office as a parent of two, a long-time party activist, and an individual who’s respected by all areas of the city, makes her the right person at the right time to move Atlantic City forward for the years ahead.”
Thomas-Fields has the backing of the Atlantic City Democratic organization, but is running off-the-line after Atlantic County Democrats endorsed the incumbent, Marty Small, Sr.
“It is essential that Atlantic City builds a diverse economy where small businesses and our casino employers both thrive,” Giblin continued. “Atlantic City must be a community that is healthy, wealthy, and wise, where we maintain our neighborhoods and attract new families to our community.
Giblin, a longtime assemblyman from Montclair, is a former New Jersey Democratic State Chairman.
