Democratic powerhouse George E. Norcross III will headline a high-dollar fundraiser for Steve Sweeney’s campaign for the Democratic nomination for governor next month,
The event is sponsored by the Camden County Democratic Committee and its chairman, State Sen. James Beach (D-Voorhees). Rep. Donald Norcross (D-Camden) and lawyer/lobbyist Philip Norcross, are also listed with their brothers on the event invitation.
Sweeney, a former Senate President and childhood friend of George Norcross, entered the race to succeed term-limited Gov. Phil Murphy last month.
Through the first quarter of 2024, Sweeney had raised $1,136,772 for his gubernatorial run.
Ticket prices are $1,500 and $4,900. Checks payable to Sweeney’s campaign account are being mailed to the Camden County Democratic headquarters.
