One of New Jersey’s most influential political insiders, Iris Delgado, was named Campaign Manager of the Year for 2023 by the American Association of Political Consultants for her work as head of the Democratic Assembly Campaign Committee last year.
As the winner of the prestigious Pollie Award, Delgado was recognized for the success of Democrats in last year’s midterm election despite the historical trend of the part of a two-term governor losing legislative seats.
Democrats picked up six Assembly seats in 2023, along with holding Democratic seats facing strong Republican opposition.
Delgado is the executive director of the Middlesex County Democratic Organization.
“Iris has long been at the heart of Democrats’ successes in Middlesex County, and it is no surprise to us to see her recognized nationally,” said Kevin P. McCabe, the Middlesex County Democratic chairman. “Her passion, expertise, and leadership are second to none. Working families in New Jersey will have champions in Trenton that work to improve their lives in part because of Iris’s hard work. Other New Jersey winners of Pollie Awards included Chris Russell, Mitch Seim, and Peter Sheridan.
