Incumbent finished last in Holmdel GOP primary

Councilman Gary Vanderham is top vote-getter

Incumbent Gary Vanderham and lobbyist T.J. Mann have both won the Republican primary for two seats on the Holmdel Township Council.

Vanderham finished first with 886 votes, followed by Mann with 859 votes.  Kristina Celauro, a farmer, came in third with 515 votes. Former Planning Board member Ronald Emma received 466 votes, and incumbent Joseph Romano came in last with 249.

Mann is the son of Monmouth County Administrator Teri O’Connor,

No Democrats filed to run for the Township Committee in Holmdel.

Holmdel is a Republican stronghold. Donald Trump carried it by nearly 15 points.
