Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff) was in Paterson on Saturday morning to raise money for Passaic County Democrats, part of the Human Fundraising Machine’s bid to make an impression on key Democratic leaders in advance of the 2025 governor’s race.

Democrats are seeking to protect three county commissioners and a county clerk on the ballot this year in a cycle with traditionally low and unpredictable voter turnout.

“I was proud to spend the morning with my good friend and legend, Chairman (John) Currie, to help support the Passaic County Democrats.  We are just weeks away from a critical election — and we all need to do everything we can to help Democrats up and down the line,” Gottheimer said.  “There is simply too much at stake this November in this battle of commonsense versus extremism.  We must protect our Jersey Values — from protecting our environment and a woman’s right to choose to lowering and cutting taxes.”

Gottheimer, who has represented part of Passaic County in Congress since 2017, headlined a Democratic fundraiser in Somerset and Monmouth counties and for Senate and Assembly Democrats.

In addition to Currie, State Sen. Nellie Pou (D-North Haledon), Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh, and Gottheimer’s Sherpa, Michael Soliman, joined the four-term congressman at the event.
