Garnet Hall continues fundraising stuggles

Fighting for her political life after losing the support of the Essex County Democratic organization, Assemblywoman Garnet Hall (D-Maplewood) raised just $27,504 since taking office in January 2024, and reported just $8,031 cash-on-hand and a debt of $1,088.

Newark West Ward Democratic Chairman Chigozie Onyema has raised $97,085 and has $69,052 cash-on-hand.

Hall raised $2,065 between May 9 and May 27, according to reports filed with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.

She reported receiving $2,016 from In-Kind contributions from Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Fulop for her share of handouts, flyers, and palm cards.

Hall does not list any In-Kind contribution or payment for her campaign office space at 111 Dunnell Road in Maplewood, which is the same building her taxpayer-funded legislative office is located.  The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has opened a file on Hall’s campaign office, the New Jersey Globe has learned.

Tucker has not filed an ELEC report since January.
