Bad polls for Christie in Iowa, Michigan and Georgia

Former New Jersey governor is in low single-digits in three new polls

Nine years after vetoing a bill aimed at sucking up to Iowa farmers by banning metal crates that severely limit the mobility of pregnant pigs, former Gov. Chris Christie is in fifth place among likely Republican caucusgoers with just 4% in the Iowa poll conducted by the Des Moines Register, NBC News and Mediacom.

But there’s some good news for Christie: he’s within the margin of error of jumping into fourth place.  And there’s some bad news: the same margin of error potentially drops him to sixth, behind Asa Hutchison (1%).

Donald Trump leads Ron DeSantis by a 51%-19% margin, with Nikki Haley in third place with 16%.  Vivek Ramaswamy, at 5%, leads Christie by one point.

Christie has not campaigned in Iowa, focusing entirely on New Hampshire.

The Iowa Poll was conducted between December 2-7 with a sample size of 502 and a margin of error of +/- 4.4%.

In a CNN poll for the Michigan GOP presidential primary, Trump leads DeSantis, 58%-15%, with Haley in third with 16%.  Christie is in fourth place with 6%.

Christie is also in fourth place in a Georgia Republican presidential poll conducted by CNN with 4%.  Trump is at 55%, with DeSantis and Haley each at 17%.
