Watchung Mayor Ronald Jubin has agreed to pay $28 to settle a complaint with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission.
A Republican, Jubin was 882 days late filing a campaign finance report for his 2020 primary, where he ran unopposed for a borough council seat and spent no money.
He cited a death in his family as the reason for the delay. As a result, ELEC agreed to waive a fine and have him pay sheriff service fees.
A candidate for the Paterson City Council in 2020, Justin Rucker, agreed to pay a $700 fine for being 820 days late in filing his own reports with the commission.
