IBEW 102 and the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters endorsed a trio of Morris County GOP commissioners Wednesday. The two unions endorsed Deborah Smith, John Krickus, and Stephen Shaw.
Mary Jane Celli, the longest-serving council member in Long Branch’s history, died Sunday at the age of 90. She served on the council for 30 years, from 1994 to 2024. Gov. Phil Murphy said, “Mary was a dedicated and accomplished advocate for her community.”
Sgt. Monica Mosley, a detective with the Cumberland County Prosecutor’s Office, was shot and killed during an apparent home invasion in Bridgeton on Tuesday night. In a release, Attorney General Matt Platkin said, “Each of us should be able to feel safe in our homes, and when that safety is broken, it impacts us all. While the investigation is still ongoing, we offer our sincerest condolences to her family, friends, and fellow officers who worked closely with her every day.” No suspects have been identified as of Wednesday morning, according to a CBS report.
