Among the stakeholders in a midterm election that turned out better for Democratic candidates than the prognosticators imagined was Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-Wyckoff), the Human Fundraising Machine, who raised enormous amounts of money for other Democrats running in 2022.

Gottheimer raised a colossal $5,055,000 this cycle for Democratic candidates seeking public office at the federal, state, county and local level.

That number comes on  top the $8.3 million he raised to win re-election to a fourth term as the congressman from New Jersey’s 5th district.

“I’m proud to have helped raise and contribute to so many commonsense, problem-solving Democrats in 2022,” Gottheimer state.  “In service of New Jersey and to our nation, I’m focused on helping commonsense candidates who are working to make life more affordable, supporting law enforcement and veterans, fighting for clean air and water for our children, and helping fix and improve our roads, bridges, and tunnels.”

Gottheimer lead Republican Frank Pallotta by 24,259 votes, 54%-45%.  The rematch turned out to be a stronger result than two years ago, when Gottheimer defeated Pallotta by a 53%-46% margin.
