Lt. Governor Tahesha Way today praised the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris ticket, marking a public display of support for the president at a time when key Democratic Party leaders are looking at the possibility of replacing Biden on the ticket.
“At a time when our very democracy is under siege, President Biden and my AKA Soror Vice President Harris have been stalwart champions of protecting and expanding the right to vote, guarding our sacred democratic institutions, and respecting the rule of law,” Way said. “They’ve skillfully led our country for the past three and a half years and I’m behind them 100%.”
With Gov. Phil Murphy spending part of this week at the National Governors Association meeting in Utah and then flying today for trade meetings in Germany, Way is serving as acting governor between July 10-16.
“I was honored to attend the Black Voters for Biden launch in May with the President and Vice President and will continue doing everything I can to support this ticket as we get closer to Election Day,” Way stated.
