Kathleen Frangione, who resigned as Gov. Phil Murphy’s chief policy advisor in May 2020, has joined Ørsted Offshore North America as head of Government Affairs and Market Strategy.
Ørsted is an offshore wind development company and was awarded a $250 million lease to build an offshore wind farm in New Jersey.
Prior to joining Murphy’s senior staff in 2018, Frangione was a top aide to U.S. Senator John Kerry. She joined Amazon after leaving the governor’s office fifteen months ago.
Pamela Venzke, Ørsted’s chief corporate affairs officer, said that Frangione “will enhance our ability to support our local, state and federal partners as the United States builds a sustainable offshore wind industry, helping to achieve Ørsted’s vision of a world entirely run on renewable energy.”
Frangione served as Murphy’s acting chief of staff for a brief period between Pete Cammarano’s resignation and the appointment of George Helmy to fill the post.
She left Kerry’s Senate staff in 2010 to become Executive Vice President of Signal Group Consulting, a government relations and public affairs firm. She is a graduate of Harvard College and received her M.A. in Forestry and Environmental Studies from Yale.
