A group of journalists will join South Jersey Forward founder Michael Suleiman this evening to discuss what’s going on with local media in South Jersey.
The state of local news coverage in southern New Jersey is not good. The Press of Atlantic City now only prints newspapers three days a week and has eliminated deliveries. Gannett took an axe to the Vineland Daily Journal and the Courier Post newsrooms, laying off award-winning journalists,” South Jersey Forward, a non-profit public policy group, said on its website. “The purpose of this roundtable is to examine how we ended up in this perilous situation and, more importantly, how to fill the void and restore local news and media coverage in South Jersey.
The panel includes: 1400 WOND AM radio host and former Press of Atlantic City reporter Scott Cronick; TAPinto founder and CEO Michael Shapiro; TAPinto Mount Laurel and Bordentown editor Elizabeth Meyers; and New Jersey Globe editor David Wildstein.
The roundtable begins at 7 PM and can be viewed on South Jersey Forward’s social media platforms.
