U.S. Senator Cory Booker and former Newark Mayor Sharpe James will join host David Wildstein on the New Jersey Globe Power Hour on Talk Radio 77 WABC on Saturday, February 12 at 4 PM.

Booker was elected to the U.S. Senate in a 2013 special election following the death of Frank Lautenberg and won full terms in 2014 and 2020.  In his last election, Booker received more votes than any other statewide candidate in New Jersey history.  He served as a Newark city councilman from 1998 to 2002, and as mayor from 2006 to 2013.  In 2020, he sought the Democratic nomination for president.

James was first elected to the Newark City Council in 1970 and served four terms before defeating four-term Mayor Kenneth Gibson in 1986.  James was mayor for 20 years before his retirement in 2006.   He also served in the New Jersey State Senate from 1999 to 2008.

Booker and James, who appear in separate interviews, ran against each other in a nationally-watched mayoral race that was the subject of the Oscar-nominated documentary, Street Fight.

The 85-year-old James is considering a return to politics as a candidate for Newark City Council in the May 2022 non-partisan municipal election.

Wildstein is the host of the New Jersey Globe.
