Wyche named Hudson Dem executive director

The new executive director of the Hudson County Democratic Organization is Storm Wyche.

Hudson County Executive Craig Guy, who assumed the role of Democratic county chairman last month.

Wyche is a veteran New Jersey operative, having managed the 2021 Democratic primaries for State Sen. Gordon Johnson and Assemblywomen Shama Haider and Ellen Park of the 37th District, and most recently worked as the political director for First Lady Tammy Murphy’s unsuccessful U.S. Senate bid. Wyche also served as the deputy national scheduling director for Senator Cory Booker’s 2020 presidential campaign and later as the deputy director of Booker for Senate’s coordinated campaign.

“This is a new era with a vision of building and empowering, that will emphasize the strong Democratic values held by the residents of Hudson County,” Wyche said in a statement. “I am excited to get to work strengthening relationships, educating voters, and responding to the needs of the members of the Democratic party.”

“This is about invigorating our diverse constituencies and committee people in a meaningful way,” Guy said.  “Organization is about people and results, and bringing on Storm is about putting our money where our mouth is to invest in outreach and our communities.”
