Union County Democrats tonight re-elected Nicholas Scutari, the Senate President, as their county chairman.
Scutari ran unopposed.
“It is an honor to be entrusted with this position once again. My team and I have worked tirelessly to fight for Democratic values across this county over the last five years and have made every effort to deliver Democratic victories everywhere, even in less traditional Democratic strongholds,” Scutari said. “We’ve made massive gains, and they haven’t gone unnoticed.”
Assemblywoman Linda Carter (D-Plainfield) was re-elected first vice chair.
Scutari was first elected in a 2018 special election following the death of Gerald Green, defeating Fanwood Mayor Colleen Mahr by a wide margin.
“I look forward to working hard for Democrats up and down the ballot over the next four years as we continue to innovate our campaign strategies and take our message directly to the voters,” stated Scutari.
