In a race for a Ward Three city council seat in Ocean City, incumbent Jody Levchuk holds a narrow two-vote lead over challenger Amie Vaules, 391-389.
Sean Barnes has won an at-large city council seat in Ocean City, defeating Michael DeVlieger by 517 votes, 58%-32%, to fill a two-year unexpired term. Barnes will replace Karen Bergman, who resigned in January to take a job as head of the Ocean City senior center.
Former Councilman Paul Hartzell, who gave up his seat two years ago to challenge Mayor Jay Gillian, has scored a comeback; he defeated Paul Stryker by 51 votes, 54%-46%, to win the Ward Two council seat. Incumbent Tom Rotondi did not win re-election.
In Ward Four, incumbent David Winslow defeated Cecilia Gallelli-Keyes with 57% of the vote. He was appointed earlier this year to replace Bobby Barr, who left to become an Cape May County Commissioner.
Terry Crowley, Jr. was unopposed in Ward One.
