Three Democratic mayors – Reed Gusciora of Trenton, Bert Steinmann of Ewing, and Paul Anzano of Hopewell Borough – lead a list of seventeen current and former local officials and party leaders who have endorsed five-term Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes for re-election.
Trenton Democratic Municipal Chair Raissa Walker, Hamilton Councilman Anthony Carabelli, Jr., Ewing Councilmen David Schroth and Kevin Baxter, and Lawrence Councilman Michael Powers also support Hughes in his primary fight with Assemblyman Dan Benson (D-Hamilton).
“These endorsements from current and former local officeholders are especially meaningful,” Hughes said. “Local leaders get things done. They know the importance of having a reliable partner they can count on for more than just empty promises or lip service to the needs of their constituents. I have been proud to partner with them in delivering results for the residents of Mercer County.”
Also signing on in support of Hughes are former Sheriff Gilbert Lugossy, former County Commissioner Ann Cannon, Lawrence school board president Patricia Hendricks Farmer, former Hamilton Councilman Edward Pattik, former Pennington Councilwoman Beverly Mills, former Princeton Councilwomen Jo Butler and Jenny Crumiller, and former Princeton Democratic Municipal Chair Scotia MacRae.
