CWA endorses Joshi for Edison mayor

Sam Joshi has picked up the endorsement of the Communications Workers of America (CWA), which represents over 1,000 families who live in Edison, in his bid for the Democratic nomination for mayor.

“New Jersey needs leaders at all levels of government who support unions and believe in collective bargaining,” said Fran Ehret, the new CWA NJ Area Director. “Sam Joshi fits that mold, and we’re thrilled to endorse his run for mayor.”

Joshi faces Mahesh Bhagia, the embattled Edison Demcoratic municipal chairman, in the June 8 primary.

He is running on the Middlesex County Demcoratic organization line and is effectively Ehret’s running mate.  She is a candidate for re-election to the New Jersey Democratic State Committee.

“We look forward to talking to our members and their neighbors about moving our shared vision forward for working families,” Ehret.

Joshi has also won endorsements from Gov. Phil Murphy and U.S. Senators Bob Menendez and Cory Booker.
