Maggie Moran’s two-year-old firm, Moxie Strategies, has made its way onto PRovoke Media’s prestigious list of the top 40 public affairs firms in the world.
It’s rare for a start-up company like Moxie to appear on a list dominated by legacy giants so quickly.
“Moxie quickly positioned itself as a leader in the industry by integrating innovative strategies with a deep commitment to social responsibility. It stands out for its profit-sharing approach, radical transparency, and a focus on both professional and personal development for its team members,” PRovoke Media wrote. “Moxie operates at the intersection of public affairs, corporate communications, and strategic stakeholder engagement, utilizing data-driven insights to inform campaign strategies.”
Jeannine Frisby LaRue, Pearl Gabel, Megan Cryan, Hira Shaikh, and Joe Libutti are part of the Moxie team.
Moran has been a force in New Jersey politics since the 1990s and held top posts at the Democratic State Committee and was the state director for two U.S. Senators, Frank Lautenberg and Jon Corzine. After Corzine was elected governor, Moran served as his deputy chief of staff and ran his 2009 re-election campaign. She later became a top official at the Laborers’ International Union Eastern Region. She founded M Public Affairs, which later merged with Kivvit, a hugely influential public affairs firm she helped build and run. Kivvit’s offspring, Avoq, also made the list.
Last year, Moxie was named one of the six best new agencies in North America by PRovoke Media.
