The Republican leadership team in the New Jersey State Senate wants Joe Pennacchio (R-Montville) back in 2023.

Pennacchio, who is seeking re-election to a sixth term in the Senate, picked up endorsements from Senate Minority Leader Steve Oroho, Deputy Minority Leader Bob Singer, Republican Conference Leader Kristin Corrado, Minority Whip Anthony Bucco, Deputy Conference Leader Holly Schepisi, and Republican Budget Officer Declan O’Scanlon.

“Joe has been a leading voice and advocate in the Senate, not only for his constituents but also for our entire Republican Caucus,” Oroho said.  “He has led the charge on many issues that are important to all the people of the state of New Jersey.”

Pennacchio is the Assistant Minority Leader, the number two person in the Senate GOP leadership.

So far, Pennacchio is unopposed in the Republican primary in a district that is non especially competitive for Demcorats.  But Morris County Commissioner Thomas Mastrangelo, who won renomination off the line after losing the 2021 GOP convention, is considered a possible Senate candidate.
