State Sen. Paul Sarlo (D-Wood-Ridge) has been elected to the National Academy of Construction (NAC), a national organization of construction professionals and academics that works to improve the construction industry.
“I am honored and humbled to be elected to the National Academy of Construction by my peers,” Sarlo said in a statement. “This is a highly respected organization that government entities, universities and industry look to for expertise on infrastructure projects. Their input is invaluable for investments that serve vital needs and make important contributions to economic growth.”
Sarlo, who is also the mayor of Wood-Ridge and the chairman of the Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee, is a construction executive himself, working as the chief operating officer of the construction contractor Joseph M. Sanzari, Inc.
Sarlo is set to be sworn into the NAC on October 10 in San Antonio.
