A Wayne man active in local politics and civic affairs has been named chief of staff to Senate Minority Conference Leader Kristin Corrado (R-Totowa).
Donald DeDio, Jr. will succeed Erin Darreff, who left in January to become the district director for Rep. Tom Kean, Jr. (R-Westfield).
The Passaic County Young Republican chairman since 2018, the 26-year-old DeDio serves on the Wayne Zoning Board and is president of the Wayne Police Athletic League board.
“Donnie has worked closely with me and my district office staff over the years in various capacities,” Corrado said. “He brings a wealth of experience to our office, having served in various roles in the political and nonprofit worlds and in municipal government.”
Before joining Corrado’s staff, DeDio served as a confidential assistant to the Montville township administrator. He is a 2020 graduate of Seton Hall University and received his master’s degree in public administration last year.
“I have no doubt that Donnie will hit the ground running in support of our efforts to fight for our constituents and maintain the high level of service that people have come to expect from our district office,” Corrado said.
