Superior Court Judge Lisa Thornton has dismissed a lawsuit filed by Ocean County GOP Chairman George Gilmore in August seeking a return of the organization’s digital assets from his predecessor and others.
Gilmore wanted emails and other electronic files concerning party business stored on computers and cell phones belonging to the former county chairman, Frank B. Holman III, and other members of his team, including Assemblyman Gregory McGuckin (R-Toms River), and attorney Jerry Dasti.
He sought a court order to declaring him the sole owner of the Ocean GOP’s Gmail accounts.
In her order, Thornton said both sides agreed to settle the dispute and that Gilmore and other plaintiffs agreed to dismiss the complaint.
The lawsuit as reassigned to Thornton, the Monmouth County assignment judge, from the Ocean County vicinage.
