Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) released the following statement on the death of Rep. Bill Pascrell (D-Paterson):
“I am saddened by the loss of my friend and colleague, Congressman Bill Pascrell, who served with me on the Homeland Security Committee for nearly a decade. With passion and tenacity, he led efforts to improve national resilience to incidents involving WMDs and was a champion for first responders, particularly fire fighters. After leaving the Committee, he continued to advocate for policies to make our communities safer and more secure, including by working with me to enact legislation to formally authorize the Non-Profit Security Grant Program at DHS. I’m sending my deepest condolence to Congressman Pascrell’s family, friends, and constituents.”
