Former state health official dies of coronavirus

Former deputy New Jersey Commissioner of Health Colette Lamothe-Galette has died of an illness related to coronavirus, Gov. Phil Murphy announced today.

She was 45.

Lamothe-Galette served as director of Population Health at the New Jersey Department of Health from 2015 to 2019.  She spent fourteen years working for the state.

She was serving as the senior program officer at The Nicholson Foundation in Newark at the time of her death. Lamothe-Galette was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and received her Master of Public Health degree from Yale University.
