Pallone endorses Sherrill for governor

Rep. Frank Pallone (D-Long Branch), the senior Democrat in the New Jersey congressional delegation, has endorsed Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-Montclair) for governor.

“Mikie is a proven leader who cares about average New Jerseyans and listens to the voters,” Pallone said.  “I will do my best to help her become the Democratic nominee in the primary because I know she’ll be our party’s best candidate in the November general election.”

Pallone’s endorsement follows Sherrill’s convention victories in the two counties Pallone represents in Congress: Monmouth and Middlesex.

“New Jersey needs Mikie as our next governor because she will focus on the issues that matter, like health care, housing, and making life more affordable for all New Jerseyans,” he said.  “Mikie has also taken on Donald Trump. She never hesitates to fight for the little guy. With the stakes higher than ever, New Jersey needs a Governor who can lead with integrity, dedication, and commitment to improve our state.  Mikie is the leader that will deliver real results for New Jersey.”
