Oliver Tribute: Jonathan Holloway

Rutgers University President Jonathan Holloway released the following statement on the death of Lieutenant Gov. Sheila Oliver:

“Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver was a remarkable woman who forcefully represented her district, her county and our state with dignity and determination.

She never lost focus on the things that were important to her, and she never wavered in her support for Rutgers. She was a stalwart as Speaker of the General Assembly in defending the independence and the autonomy of the university.

We are saddened by her passing and know that her presence on the political scene in New Jersey will be sorely missed. Her legacy will be felt for decades to come.”
