Democrat Dale Caldwell and Republican James Gannon will face off tonight for the first and only debate in the race for Lt. Governor at 7 PM on PIX11 and PHL17.
The debate will be broadcast from the campus of Kean University. PIX11’s Dan Mannarino and Henry Rosoff will moderate the debate.
Caldwell, who is running with Mikie Sherrill, is the president of Centenary University in Hackettstown. He served on the New Brunswick Board of Education for 26 years and is a former chairman of the New Brunswick Housing Authority. Caldwell is also the pastor of the Covenant United Methodist Church in Plainfield.
Gannon, picked by Jack Ciattarelli as his running mate, is the Morris County Sheriff; he was elected in 2016 and re-elected in 2019 and 2022. He is unopposed for re-election this year. A former beat cop from Boonton who rose to the position of deputy chief of investigations in the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, where he handled over 120 homicide cases and served on the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
The debate can also be seen on PIX11.com, PHL17.com, PIX11+, and Haystack TV. The PIX11+ app, is available on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Samsung Smart TV. It will be simulcast on NJ101.5.
The lieutenant governor debate was initially set to be simulcast on NewsNation, but those arrangements have been cancelled.
