Democratic gubernatorial candidate Steve Fulop is going up on the air this week with a new ad touting his efforts as mayor of Jersey City to protect local residents from Donald Trump.
In “Rooftop,” Fulop stands on the roof of a Jersey City high-rise and speaks directly to camera about “protecting Jersey City from Trump discrimination in healthcare, housing and policing”
And Fulop outlines a skyscraper in the background and highlights his refusal to give a 30-year tax abatement for an $800 million luxury apartment building to members of the Trump family.
Script: “Every Democrat running for governor talks about taking on Donald Trump. I’m Steve Fulop, and I did more than talk. I passed strong laws protecting Jersey City from Trump discrimination in healthcare, housing and policing. And see that building? I blocked the Trump family from getting tax breaks to build it. You shouldn’t have to know somebody who knows somebody to get a good paying job, healthcare you can afford, and a safe place to live. I’ll be a governor on nobody’s side but yours.”
This is Fulop’s fifth TV ad.
