Flags lowered on Monday to honor Senator Cardinale

Visitation set for Tuesday, Mass on Wednesday for 42-year legislator who died at age 86

Gov. Phil Murphy today ordered U.S. and New Jersey flags to be flown at half-staff on Monday to honor State Sen. Gerald Cardinale (R-Demarest), a 42-year member of the legislature who died on Saturday at age 86.

Visitation for Cardinale will be held on Tuesday, February 23 from 3-8 PM at the Barrett Leber Funeral Home in Tenafly.

A mass will be celebrated at 12:15 PM at Mr. Carmel RC Church in Tenafly on Wednesday, February 24.   Internment will be held at the Brookside Cemetery in Englewood.

Murphy’s executive order called Cardinale “a dedicated public servant who tirelessly served the people of New Jersey for many years.”
