U.S. District Court Judge Zahid Quraishi today denied a bid by the Camden County Democratic Committee to join this morning’s case management conference to discuss the next steps in a lawsuit to end county organization lines.

William Tambussi, the counsel to the Camden Democrats, told Quraishi this morning that the organization intends to file a motion to intervene.  Camden Democrats have also intervened in the related lawsuit filed four years ago to challenge the legality of county lines in primary elections.

Quraishi set a deadline of March 4 for Tambussi to submit his motion to the court.

Since Kim and two other congressional candidates, Sarah Schoengood and Carolyn Rush, filed their lawsuit on Monday, several lawyers have entered their appearances on behalf of the county clerks who are defendants: Edward Florio (Hudson), Brian Nelson, Jason Spiro and Marissa Deanna (Monmouth), Angelo Genova and Jennifer Borek (Essex and Union), Adam Malamut and Mark Natale (Burlington), Richard Wille II and Jeffrey Golum (Somerset), Paul Adezio (Mercer), Raj Parikh (Passaic), Kristin Bohn (Morris), and John Carbone, the dean of New Jersey election lawyers (Hunterdon, Gloucester, Cape May and Cumberland).
