A political action committee dedicated to electing Democratic scientists to public office will spend $170,000 on an ad supporting Assemblyman Herb Conaway’s bid for the Democratic nomination for Congress in New Jersey’s 3rd district.
314 Action Fund will run the ads on cable, streaming services, and digital between today and June 4.
The ad, Proud, touts Conaway’s credentials as an Air Force veteran, physician, and longtime state legislator, and mentions laws he wrote to lower prescription drug costs for seniors.
Script: “Air Force veteran. Doctor. The first Black assemblyman from South Jersey. Doctor Herb wrote the law that helps seniors pay less for the prescription drugs they need. Now Doctor Herb is running for Congress to protect abortion rights and make prescription drugs more affordable for everyone. No wonder Democrats in Burlington, Mercer, and Monmouth counties support Dr. Herb Conaway. He stands up for all of us.”
Conaway is one of five Democrats seeking to succeed Rep. Andy Kim (D-Moorestown), who is leaving the House after three terms to run for the U.S. Senate.
The first debate of the 3rd district Democratic race between Conaway, Assemblywoman Carol Murphy, and civil rights attorney Joe Cohn, sponsored by the New Jersey Globe, On New Jersey, and Rider University, will take place at 8 PM tonight.
