Ocean County’s Republican Mayors are behind David Richter.

Republican mayors from all 15 of the Ocean County towns that fall within the third congressional district have backed Richter over former Burlington County Freeholder Kate Gibbs for the party nod to take on Rep. Andy Kim (D-Marlton).

“I appreciate the overwhelming support we have received from municipal leaders throughout Ocean County,” Richter said. “With the official endorsement of the Ocean County Republican Organization and the support of so many other Republican party leaders and elected officials throughout the county, I am confident of victory in the July primary and I look forward to challenging and defeating Andy Kim in November.”

Some Ocean County Republicans backed Gibbs ahead of the organization’s convention in early March but pulled their support and endorsed Richter after he won the line there.

The former Hill International CEO has also been endorsed by Barnegat Mayor John Novak, a once candidate for the Republican nod in NJ-3.

The other mayors who have endorsed Richter are Beachwood Mayor Ron Roma, Island Heights Mayor E. Steven Doyle, Lavallette Mayor Walter LaCicero, Mantoloking Mayor Lance White, Ocean Gate Mayor Paul Kennedy, Ocean Township Mayor Ken Baulderstone, Pine Beach Mayor Lawrence Cuneo, Point Pleasant Mayor Robert Sabosik, Seaside Heights Mayor Tony Vaz, Seaside Park Mayor John Peterson, Toms River Mayor Mo Hill, Berkeley Mayor Carmen Amato, Lacey Mayor Steve Kennis and Stafford Mayor Greg Myhre.
